E.Sierras trip "$$ Trout Stock Mardi Gras!!"
- THE RETURN TO MAMMOTH (9/1 - 9/4) 2006
attention: Jon (Wahoo!); Ray (NulodPBall); and Sean Lara (DementedFish), Mark Beresford(Beresford13861), Russ Reck (FishSlayer).
This thread can be used for us to plan our return to Mammoth /Yosemite area for the Mammoth Lakes Million Dollar Trout Stock festival weekend.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To any other HookUpSportfishing.com member: There may possibly be one available spot open to be able to stay in my condo. Keep an eye on this thread and I'll post if that possibility arises.
The cost of the Maid Service that I hire to clean up after I leave my condo is $65.00. So we'll split that between 6 of us and it'll only end up costing each of us like $11.00 bucks a piece.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyone else who is going to be in Mammoth that weekend, camping or whatever; you can use this thread to also coordinate and plan getting together to fish with this party, and you're more that welcome to hang out in my condo "
until Bedtime". Sorry I'm not offering accomodations to more than six members for this trip.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jon, I will be setting up and coordinating "movement" for us with Ronnie Kovach and his production team, as they will be up there filming the events and happenings that weekend for the "Fishing Ventures" TV show. I'll be talking to Jeff Jost from Albackore to see what he's doing that weekend also (in terms of evening events).
Chris, Depending on both of our schedules, we can go up early on Friday(9/1) and get the condo ready for everyone else. We can also take up some gear for the other guys to make it easier on them, so when they get there they don't have to spend so much time unloading and organizing stuff in my condo.
Ray, if you can bring the float tube again this time, I'd really appreciate it.
~~~~~~~~~
Lodging - (
my condo)I've triple checked my condo this time to make sure that I don't have any one either renting it from me or "borrowing it", and we're all clear! Jon and Chris, you've seen where my condo is. I won't put up the address here, but I'll PM all you guys the address to the condo if you like so you can have it, and not have to worry about it later.
Destinations - We can hit up some of the same spots as we did last time (
I know there's a couple of spots that everyone was pretty fond of). We have an extra day of fishing because it's a 3 day weekend and we don't have to come back
until Monday night.
Jon, you and I have to also consider what Ronnie's itinerary is, in terms of where he'll be fishing/filming (for business purposes....we can discuss that between you and I, later).
Some of the spots I'd like to revisit are the following:
spot#2(L.V. Creek); and Convict Creek, and I'd like to give Twin Lakes(Mammoth) another shot.
The spots I'd like to try to get to, that we didn't fish during the first trip would be:
Lake Mamie; Pickle Meadows Trout Habitat(
West Walker River) Grant Lake(
upper June Lake Junction); possibly Manzanar area (George Creek); and Mono Lake LOL
(..just kidding)
FOOD: Now we'll Have a Kitchen to utilize, we should really focus on the grocery thing so that we don't have to spend $75.00 on Pizza, although I'm sure we'll end up going out on the town for a little while on both Saturday and Sunday nights, seeing as there will be alot of night time festivities going on due to the Trout Stock Event, that's why I'm refering to it as the "
Anglers Mardi Gras"!
I'm going to repost the Grocery list from the first trip:
Breakfast:
I'll cook Breakfast in the condo
(eggs, Fried potatos, sausages, breakfast cereal)
Lunch:
We'll make sandwiches and pack them with us.
Dinner:
Mammoth has really good places to eat, including some of the best pizza I've ever had, so we'll all just go out and eat for dinner on Sat and Sun. I know the Pizza was expensive the first trip, but there's a Round table Pizza in town that is of course really good, and /or we'll be out to the Bar-n-Grills (Whisky Creek, etc.) with Ronnie Kovach and Jeff Jost, etc.
Below is a list of items that we will need to bring regarding food we'll be sharing. If you can help bring some stuff that would be very much appreciated.
