Sea Spray Twilight 6/19/04
Frank (ESC) and I tried to make it down to Newport to fish with the guys on the Nautilus Friday night, but got stuck in heavy traffic and couldn't make it.
Since we were already in the area, we decided to jump on a Redondo boat and just made it to the landing. When we got there we spoke with some guys that had just gotten off the pm 1/2 day boat and they said they were hooking up with white sea bass and a bunch of calicos and sand bass as well. Unfortunately, the white sea bass bite was non existent by the time we got out there, but we had a decent sand and calico bite.
We had to work a little but we both got between 10 and 12 fish. Frank kept 5, I kept 6. Frank had some interesting catches. He pulled up an octopus on a glow in the dark jighead tipped with squid and a cabazon on the same thing. We had a good time and I'll be out there again soon!
