Wink Free fishing lessons...(jk)

Just a heads up...
I am looking forward to hitting NPH on Saturday the 12th, its supposed to be hot again (85+) so it should be a good day to be on the water cooling off. Moon should be near full so tides will be moving (good) but that also means that fish will be feeding at night (bad) but I am going to try it anyway.
I may hit the same areas I have been hitting the last two weeks but I was checking out some other spots on Windows Live Local and I may try and find a launching area off of the main peninsula and fish farther back in instead of around the island.

FishSlayer, I'm assuming NPH is Newport Harbor? What kind of rigs are you using and wut are you getting to bite there. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I will be launching my float tube unless someone wants to bring their boat. But I also just remembered that this weekend is the "get together" at Puddingstone so I guess I will be on my own at Newport.

Thanks.
I use various colored grubs and minnow or shad baits on a 1/4 or 3/8 jig head for bass and halibut, best colors usually should have chartreuse in them somewhere. Cast under moored boats and docks from shore or if you can get out on the water hit the boats that are moored out in the channels. If you are fishing from shore use 10-12LB Vanish so you can pull the fish out from around morring chains and pilings. When I am out on the water I drop down to 6lb line I get more bites on the lighter line and since there is less to get wrapped on I feel OK using it.
If you want to know more you will have to meet me down there sometime...

That's what I'm sayin'. He said he had to work or something so he couldn't make the get together, and now I see he doesn't....what's up with that?

Well, its like this guys...
Its not just that I know I will catch more fish by going to the harbor its also a money thing. When I get off of work on Saturday morning I am only a couple of miles from NPH and its free to launch and fish there.
But it would cost me at least a half a tank of gas round trip to drive up to San Dimas just to catch some Bluegill or maybe a couple of suck a$$ largemouth that dont fight worth a damn. Besides its going to be 95 degres there this weekend and only 80 on the harbor.
As much as I like to talk about fishing I would rather actually fish than just talk about it and the only thing that I like better than fishing is actually catching fish.
