New State/All Class record
John Irvine caught A 6lb 6oz yellow bullhead, smashing the old state record of 5lb 13 oz, over the memorial day weekend. The only pic I have seen is a head shot from the front, so you can't see the size of the fish. This was just published in the Missouri Conservationist magazine August issue. He caught it on a live minnow, just south of Kansas City. For some reason, IGFA counts a 4lb 4oz fish from Arizona as the all-tackle record. This one definitely takes top honors, IMO.

Sweet! I love catching Bullhead cats (the Yellows, the Browns and the Blacks). I guess I have a new task of trying to beat that Catfish record when I'm out there in Oct.!

I know a spot for big brown bullhead, but not for the yellows. I can take you to some places where there have been many many 50#+ blues and flatheads, though
