Newport Harbor Report 6/5

Today we had our club meeting at Newport Harbor. A lot more people said they would go, but they couldnt make it I guess. Nick showed up late with Alex, due to his dad being rear ended.

Nick got there at 3 pm, and I had to leave at about 5. So I didn't have too much time to fish. We got in the water at 4, and looked around for some good spots. After searching for about 15 min, we found a good spot under private docks, and the fishing was WFO. I only had about 15 min of time to fish. I caught 1 shiner perch, and 1 BIG buttermouth perch. After that, my friend called me in, and I had to leave. Nick ended up with 1 sand bass, 1 bay bass, 6 shiners, 16 butter mouth perch. He was lucky and got to fish a long time. Alex caught 5 perch total. Everything was caught on fresh mussels.

I hope more members can come to the next meeting. Nick and I have TWO HUGE EVENTS planned that our members should REALLY come to. Thank you and goodnight.

Why did you guys start so late? Why not fish the morning high or low tide?

good job out there though in that amount of time.

its allright, you should come to the next event should be fun. fishing should be good as well there to. o yea i dont think you would of done too well for the bass. the only people gettin em were using squid and in the deeper water. theyre there but not to many yet. the did begin to show later in the day when the tide was rising.
