Closeup Hendrickson dun & other photos

This is quoted from a post on my website from a member named Jason. He is a very talented photographer and fly angler;

Quote:
I just finished a big update to my site finally... had to squeeze it in an hour or two at a time most nights. Between fishing and work I've had precious little time for webpage stuff.

I also lost my fly rod last night! I stupidly drove off and left it on top of the car and didn't notice until I got home at 11 pm 50 miles away!! I was the first one back at the lot at 5:30 am but it was gone. It did give me an excuse to buy the 9-weight I've been aching for while I wait a week or so for the 5-weight to turn up from some good samaratin before replacing it.

Anyway, the Hendricksons (Ephemerella subvaria) are just starting to hatch, not really serious yet, but I've been able to collect some duns for photography.

Here are two pictures of the same male dun (sometimes also known as the Red Quill), one in the normal profile and one to show his underside color well for fly-tying purposes. You can see it even better in the large versions here.

Anyway, I've managed to add photographs of 7 Hendrickson duns, one big Siphloplecton ("Pseudo-gray Drake") dun, one Pseudocloeon dun, one adult caddisfly, and one adult stonefly.

As you can see, some of the photos aren't quite artistic quality yet, but they do generally demonstrate the bug's color for tying at least... I'm still trying to figure out how to get the live adults to behave for the camera with my equipment. Any tips would be appreciated.

Also added some new underwater photos. A couple of my favorites are below. The log in the top picture is covered with Hendrickson nymphs that will hatch out into the type of dun you see above.

And I added some other pictures of big fish I've caught recently... got my biggest brookie, biggest brown, and biggest rainbow ever all in the same week!! Below are a 22" brown from the Namekagon and 26.5" steelhead from the Sioux.
