Los Vaqueros Report
LOS VAQUEROS, BRENTWOOD:
Shore fishing for trout did very well this last week as anglers have been limiting out along the marina shoreline. The best spots are the South Cove and Oak Point. Anglers are using a variety of PowerBait. Favorite colors are rainbow, chartreuse and orange. Some anglers are using the nightcrawler and a marshmallow combo. Trollers have been limiting out using a variety of lures (Broken Back, Cripp, Wedding Rings and Kastmasters) going no deeper than 25 feet. Bass action has slowed down, but anglers should be able to pull some out mainly down by the rock wall. Some have been pulled out on the shore by using rubber worms, Rat-L-Traps or poppers. Anglers in boats have had some luck also in the rock wall vicinity near the trees that are submerged. Catfish action is going to pick up with the warmer weather. There have been some caught on worms near Oak Point and in the South Cove. Also try chicken livers or Crave's Catfish Gravy.
