updated: Pyramid Lake, Nevada Cutthroat Trout

(I included a pic of the "toad" on the trip) I finally made the trip this year to Pyramid Lake outside of Reno. Fishing wasnt red hot but was lots of fun. My 2 buddies and I caught roughly 30 fish in a 3 day period. Fish ranged from 18 inches/2 pounds to 29 inches/8 pounds. My biggest was about 24 inches and 4 pounds. All fish were caught on a variety of local flies and Blue Fox Spoons. No pictures of the monsters yet but here are a couple of the more typical fish.

Jobunn,

Awesome report! These are the kind of reports we like to see!! Good job bro. Oh, by the way, I moved this report into the "Fishing Around the World" forum since it's an out of state report.

When I was in my early teens in Reno, My best friend was a Piute Indian and they have a reservation on Pramid lake. Once a year they have a run of a weird kind of fish, millions of them, I don't remember the name. some Indian name. But the story was that they were found no where else in the world and that after the spawning run they could not be found in the lake until the next year and that they went thu caves to some hugh underwater resevior. Shades of Nessie. There a sign post up ahead, it's the twilight zone.

I have heard the they spawn by swimming in a large circle, and slowly swim in a smaller, and smaller circle ,until they actually swim up there asses, and disappear.
