Well I finally got out today! We left the house at about 6 pm with our salmon gear and trout fly fishing gear. We were not sure exactly where we were going to fish or what we were going to fish for.
The first place we stopped was a local creek for some kings...nothing was biting for us. I was using a green corkie rig. Then after a little while we left and went up to a lake called Jewel Lake. Right when we pulled up we already saw people catching trout. So I quickly grabbed my flyrod and got out. I first tied on a san jaun worm, but about 30 sec later I cut it off and threw on a size 14 tan elk hair caddis. On my second cast I hooked one... got him in pretty quickly, but it felt awesome to finally get a fish on the end of my line!!! :veryhappy: My step dad caught 2 using a PTN no bead head.
Fish were rising all over, got a bunch of bites and a few more takes but nothing stayed on. It was very fun! After that we drove down the road to look around and on the side of the road eating dandilions was a very small baby moose. I got some pictures of this cute little animal. Then we headed up to Mcdonalds got some cheese burgers then drove around looking at another lake called Campbell lake. Float planed all over. I would have to say the best part besides catching the fish was seeing a bald eagle sweep down right in front of is and grab a fish. It was an awesome site and it was very large. There is a picture below, but it is kind of hard to see the bird in it.
Here are some pics:

Right above is the picture with the eagle in it.
