Not a bad day...

For my first saltwater float tube trip I think I did pretty good, launched on Huntinton Harbor about 10:00 A.M. and fished until 3:00 P.M. I caught two small Halibut and two nice bay bass. I dropped my pliers but didnt loose anything else so I guess it was a good day. Next week I think I will take live bait...

If you start over at the pier off of Beach and warner you can catch a ton of smelt right there. Awesome live bait, however the best spot you will find for fish is over by the simple green building. BE CAREFUL THOUGH You have to worry about the Navy as well as other boats going in and out of the bay. Good job out there.

Next time try launching next to simple green. Park on PHC in front of a motel next to simple green and walk to the water. Boat traffic is nothing to worry about, but, current can be ripping there. 10 fish at this spot is a typical morning.
