They decided to lift the ban on Alper's plants the day after I left the Sierra's...those bastards!!!

Tim Alper is a guy that runs a private fish farm in the Eastern Sierra, he is paid by local buisness owners to plant very larg fish in local waters to attract fishermen, its called the "Adopt a creek" program.

Here's an alper next to a regular sized stocker I caught a few days ago at Twin Lakes in Mammoth.

To be honest thats a large Alper and a small DFG stocker, most Alpers are about a pound and a half but they allways have pink meat and fuller tails and fins so they allways fight harder. They are also more predatory in their feeding habits, they hit lures and jigs more than dough baits and cheese or eggs. When fishing for Alpers allways carry a red & gold Thomas Bouyant! BTW nice fish Sloper...
