Go-to Fly?

Just curious what is everyones go-to fly?

I would have to say mine is the BHPTN (Bead Head Pheasant Tail Nymph) It has almost always worked for me when nothing else worked!

yep, thats the one. it consistently catches fish for me too. but the plain ants with nothing but thread and a single hackle in the middle are great too if there is any type of overhanging structure

i havent used foam or any parachute bodies on them. all i do when i tie them is put a lot of thread to make half of the body then spin a hackle around the middle of the shank then make the other half of the body with more thread. I mainly fish them around trees. the only thing about the ant is that it catches the smaller fish.

Smaller fish can be a blast some times, but I am happy just being on the water, the fish is an added treat!

Havent caught any fish here yet, only been here for 4 months, and the thaw completed about a month or so ago. We have been out once and nothing was biting, but we are going to a lake this weekend and they are catching the trout like crazy there!
