Hey guys: I just got back from Isabella last weekend. The crappie fishing is on FIRE!!!

Go to Boulder Gulch campsite (its near the marina) and fish around the rocks. Toss out chartruse mini jigs. In the picture below, the mini jig in the middle caught the most fish. The lip ripperz at the bottom caught the bigger fish. All you need to do, is cast out, let it sink for about 5 seconds, and reel in. No twitching or jerking the rod is needed, just reel in.

Here is my report from Isabella. Be sure to read it for some tips. GOOD LUCK!!Kern River Report- Weekend Trip

If you want to fish for trout, Boulder Gulch is also a great place. The water is a lot clearer here than in the river. The river has been EXTREMELY MURKY AND THE FISHING IS VERY BAD. However, if you want to fish the river for trout, use nightcrawlers and salmon eggs. For the lake, use chartruse powerbait.

I also camped at the river, at Camp 3. You can just make a short drive to the lake. No biggie.
