Madelay Power plant 5-21-04 Swimbait day.
Bait: Swimbait on a dart head 1/4 on 6lb Maxima line.
Summary: The water is still dirty with red tide some. However, that did not stop the halibuts from hitting the swimbaits in the morning time. I was trying to break myself into not using the Carolina rig so much and to start also using swimbait more. Well to a happy time on the beach. I can say now that I have master the swimbait down to get one Halibut that was 28" in lenght and one miss halibut that did not get the swim bait well. Save him for next time. Also taught this guy I met on the beach to use the swim bait also. Sorry to say his halibut can off from poor knot tying. Knowing him he will be back to fishing the area and swimbait again. Just stay with it buddy. Your time comming. Overall what a day of swimbaits. Nigeria Butler |
