Gasconade River smallmouth
Hey guys. Got on the river last night for almost 2 hours. Baitfish were everywhere. Tried some topwater, but only had sunfish hit it. Switched to a Castaic craw and got one dink smallie on the first cast, only 8". First bass of the year
 . Fished the craw for a little longer for nada. Switched to a jointed rapala and farmed 4 smallies right at the shore. One was about 3 1/2-4 pounds! They were hitting it closed mouthed and not getting hooked well so I switched to a tube. Got 1 more smallie about 9" on the tube. Started getting dark, so I headed home. Damn that would be nice to have out here. Even if you do not catch fish it would be nice to just be out there to fish. a 3 1/2-4# smallie is pretty big. Its to bad he popped off right next at shore.
