Kevin VanDam's Line & Lure Conditioner

I got a sample pack of this stuff from bob sand's today and put it on my freshly spool of Berkley Big Game line before leaving for the lake. when i got to the lake, i applyed it one more time and started casting. I was amazed at the results, it really did make a difference. I will buy a bottle and have more extensive tests with mono and flouro but so far it looks like great stuff. It didnt weaken my line, and made it smoother and longer casting. Oh, it also comes in a saltwater formula.

What do you think would be the difference between the FW and the SW formula, and why couldn't the one you had be used for both?

Is it expensive?

Oh BTW how's the job over there going?

it is kind of expensive, $10 for a bottle, but this stuff works really well.

from reading the website, i gathered that the SW formula has more corrosion resistance and uv protection.

and the job is pretty good but i still need to get the hang of winding line...

$10 isn't bad if it really works well. I remember when I first learned to wind line....you're right it does take a bit of practice

I'll give it a shot. What's the application process like? If I brought in a reel to you today at lunch would you be able to respool and apply that stuff for me?

the first time you put that line conditioner on, you let it completly dry before fishing. i did it at the tackle shop and applyed another coat when i got to the lake. after the first application you do not need to let it dry.

btw jon, did you notice that i was casting farther then usual? i never cast near as far as you

so yeah, if anyone wants to comeover to the store i can show you where that stuff is, and someone can spool your line up. like i said, i suck at spooling line so you probobly dont want it to be me.

Ok cool. I'll bring my Daiwa Sol by today at lunch and get you guys to hook it up.

I did notice that you were casting further. I wasn't outcasting you by nearly as much as usual - although it could have been because I was using a 3/8 oz jerkbait compared to the 1/2 or 5/8 oz jerkbait you were throwing

Also, I need dropshot weights from 1/16 - 1/4. Do you carry the tungsten weights?

That's true, I didn't see that. Also, you didn't answer my other question! Does Bob Sands carry tungsten drop shot weights?

I can do my own line thank you!

If I cant find a line winder for cheaper than $1200 I am going to make one.

Chris I cant believe they allowed you to jump onto an international. Putting line on Big reels is a COMPLETELY different animal.

If your burning your hand you may be putting too much pressure on the spool itself. Are you using the metal line spooler? As long as you do not use it to apply pressure its ok to use. Just dont use a rag it will take the finish off of the line and apply heat (degrades the line)
