Lake Cachuma Trout Derby - California Fishing

Lake Cachuma(Santa Barbara County) is having thier annual Trout Derby on April 22 & 23.

There' s $5000 in cash and prizes guaranteed.

$30.00 pre-registration and $35.00 for on-site registration.
Kids 10 years old and younger get to enter for free.

anyone interested in doing the tournament? We still have a little while to plan for it.

How far away is it from Dana? If it's not too far I'll do it. You're going to fish in it right Tony?

Yes my Brotha, I am gonna fish it.......in regards to the location and the distance from Dana..... Orange County....then Los Angeles county.....then Ventura County....then Santa Barbara county!!

But hey you drive, remember? Your more than welcome to stay at my house the night before and then we'll make the 1-1.25 hour trek to Cachuma from there.

I don't know... MABYE. I might crash at Jon's if he's gonna do it. We'll see when the time comes. I want to but damn thats far for me, the farthest I've driven my myself is Long Beach lol.

I found it on Google Earth. Damn that's a big lake, and its 2hrs 38 min from my house.

That's about right. You live about an hour and a half from me and the lake is about an hour and 20 minutes from my house.

I would go, but I'm going to be in Tampa from April 17-30 so I won't be able to make it. You should make the drive though. It would be a cool tournament to fish.

I may be up for this. Tony I would have to crash at your place or maybe better get a hotel even closer to the lake. If I can do it and there is an interest maybe some of us can carpool and split the cost of a room. Granted if I happen to meet some of the local ladies and you come back to the room and I am there and there is a do not disturb sign on the door your out of luck for a few hours if ya know what I mean.

This will be my 6th year going to Cachuma Trout Derby. It's lots of fun, if you like camping and of course fishing. But I have never won any prizes.
