Well, made it out saturday with a good friend on his 18' c.c and got some nice bait and headed out in front of San Clemente pier in 70'of water for the drift,picked up the typical sand dabs, mac's. my friend kept one of the smaller mac's and nosed hooked it and droped it down. Next thing you know,the rod is bent and he's HOOKED UP. But only for short time. Unbuttoned. So we decide to head over to the kelp line for some bass. Firstcast he lands a 15lb Black Seabass (released) then i get 2 nice Calicos on plastics (released). That was about it for the day. I will be out on Sturday 5/1 on the Aztec see how that goes.

I didnt know u fished over there mod51! We should hook up some time, i fish there almost every week in the summer! Were u fishing the kelp in front of San Clemente Pier? There's also alot of barracuda out there.

Hey Demented, thats about one of the spots we fish regularly.Next time were down there, Maybe you can meet us @ Dana Point and you can hitch a ride and soak a line.

Hey another ontario guy on these boards. We are becoming an epidemic. Fishing the kelp with a mack could of been a nice WSB, or maybe another black. Hate those fish that you never get to see
