Private Charter ideas for the NorCal HUSF.com members
Was up Nor Cal'ers!?
HookUpSportFishing.com hosts alot of great official organized events for our So.Cal members(Charters, Tournaments, Derby's, get togethers, etc.) but would like to see the "eventfulness" of the So.Cal members rub off on the Nor.Cal members!
If you guys would please post your ideas for what you think would make a great official HookUpSportfishing.com Private charter for our Northern Cali Members.
You can suggest locations, species to target, Charter vessels, landings, geographical locations, etc.
HUSF.com would really like to get going on doing some things like this for our Nor Cal'ers.
We'll have the California Custom Angling Co. do all the designing and planning and production and all you guys have to do is FISH!
I'm thinking of a Nor Cal Hook Up.com private charter in Mid May 2006
1.) What do you guys think about a 3/4 day charter or maybe an over night charter out of Half Moon Bay for 20 anglers?
A.) a couple good vessels would be The Queen of Hearts for fishing sea run King Salmon, Lingcod and Halibut on a 3/4 day charter (or)
B.) out of Huckfin Sportfishing in the same harbor on the Salty Lady for the same species
2.) Or we could do a 3/4 day out of Richmond (San Pablo Bay) with about 14 anglers total. I have a good boat in mind for this (The Fury) and if it was done by mid to late May we could Target White Sturgeon, Halibut, and Stripers...possible some Salmon
3.) We could do a 6 pack Charter with 6-8 anglers on the upper Sacramento River for White Sturgeon and Striped Bass with the River Pirate guide service out of Anderson, CAor a guide service like it. At least 2 of us would probably come up from So.Cal to fish with you guys)This of course would be a freshwater trip.
These are a few of my ideas.
Does anyone have any thoughts on these?

Last time I went on a charter I got sea sick I ended up feeding the fish. Plus the charter boat was too damn jam packed, I didn't find it pleasant nor was it fun, they take you out to a spot tell you to drop line, then pull up fish. Bleh. BUT if I suppose it's a group of people you know it might be more interesting. I think I'd be more inclined to go on a 3/4 day trip out in halfmoon bay. I can ask boyfriend and his friend if they're interested but they never have the cash for these things anyway.

Well, getting sea-sick isn't a problem; there's things that will take care of that. I've been fishing hardcore for a long time and I still get sea-sick. It's something a person rarely gets over; you just have to take something for it.
Also, you probaly went out on an open party boat...they suck. Privater Charters are a much different atmosphere and they don't pack them on like Sardine's. We have as many or as little as we desire...it'll just fluctuate the price up or down.
Another thing is, because designing and producing custom charters is partially what I do professionally; I usually get us really good deals on charters. I don't see a charter being anymore than $70.00 per angler ( give or take) for a full day of fishing on a private charter.
One last thing....your boyfriend and his friend would have about 2.5 to three months to save up!!
Don't sweat it just yet, we're just putting ideas together and trying to plan the best location for everyone.
Is San Pablo Bay too far for you? It shouldn't be too far...maybe 40-45 minutes?

LMAO! What's crazy is, aside from Tanyah and Troy(rdnkoutlwinca), the only people looking at this is the SoCal members?????!?!?!!?
I'll get it going. I've got about 5 guys up north (from my "Fishcore World Wide" extreme anglers club I belong to) that will go.

Hey Tony, just let me know, I can more than likely do 3 people, including myself. San Pablo Bay is best for me.

Troy, I think I'll start to design something based out of San Pablo Bay; either departing out of Richmond or Emeryville. Emeryville Sportfishing has a wider selection of boats. The Fury out of Richmond looks like a decent boat too. I'm gonna negotiate the best price I can, with the best boat I can, and we'll go from there.
If you have 3 people. Tannyah has at least 2; and at least a couple of us will come up from So.Cal.plus I can get at least another 3 people froma private fishing club I belong to where a few of the members live in the Sac-town area, that's about 10 people already. Well go with a 38-40' foot vessel on a full day of fishing (8-11 hours worth of fishing) with no more thatn 14 people, but more than likely 12, unless we get other NorCal HookUp members to step up to the plate.
Thanks for being a great NorCal member Troy!

Hey Tony, just checking in, I talked to my dad, he said he's down for this and more than likely the other guy I had in mind will be, too. Will check with him when he gets back into town in the next couple days. Upper Sac or San Pablo is good either way, just let me know!

Very cool. I'm going to talk to Jon (Wahoo!) about planning this trip and then I'll probably post an official thread about it sometime next week.

Hey Tony, the late season over night albacore trips out of Virg's landing in Morro Bay put you on some monster fat fish. I know u know the albie's are much larger on the the return trip south. It would be about a 3-4 hr drive from both So, Cal & North and well worth it when it's right. This is shaping up to be one of those years. Might be a good way 2 get No.& So. together. I would be up for it for sure. I owned a seadood joint in Pismo until a few years ago and have friends and family in the area and could guarantee 3 or 4 for sure & maybe a few more in a pinch.

Yup, this is a type of trip that we will definitely eventually do. Right now we're focussing on doing things that cater to just the Nor Cal members specifically. Either going out of Richmond, or Halfmoon Bay....talking to the Queen of Hearts right now.
Those Albies do get fat on their return trip for sure!!
