Need freshwater help with lake Casitas.

I was not expecting to lake fish in a long time since I was so close to ocean. My gf had other ideas. I got a surprise about go there on saturday morning. So I had no time to look up information on that lake. Well if any you that fish there from time to time can help me in tackle set up I would really be happy with learning what I need for bass, catfish, and trout there. Now that my gf has her fishing license and her parents live up not too far from the lake. I need to stock on tackle. Any help would make my next trip better. This trip total zero fish. I did see a kid catch a 10" trout.

Well fishingbeast, i went there last summer with my dad, but we didnt have any luck. That lake is really well known for its bass. If i were you, go bass fishing. Just use your normal everday bass fishing setups, bring nightcrawlers, senkos, jigs, strike kings etc.

Casitas is a tough lake to fish, especially for bass from shore. There is a pier that you can fish from and I've had pretty good luck there with bluegill and crappie. You can also catch the occasional bass. When you enter the lake area, turn left and follow the road past the boat storage and it will be on your right side. Since it's getting warmer, the bass will be shallow so you can fish any of the fingers with plastics, jerk baits, or spinnerbaits. Like I said, Casitas is a tough lake sometimes and it will take some time to get the feel for it. Good Luck!!
