Here is my Competition fly for on my site:
Starlight Leech Hook: Mustad #4 Thread: Black, Danville's 6/0, flymaster waxed thread Tail: Magnum Rabbit Strips Black Body: 1st layer; Medium black chenille, 2nd; Cactus Chenille Large Black. Head: Lead eyes, black Schlappen, medium sized black chenille Notes: When you get towards the head end of the fly, not crouding the eye, you will tie in some Black Schlappen over itself about 4 or so wraps. Then tie in a pair of lead eyes and wrap the chenille a few times around the lead eyes.Then whip finish it. |
