Wassup peeps
Just found this site. Seems like a cool group. Anyways, I'm Juan. I been fishing for about 6 months now. I usually go on the boats from Redondo or Marina del rey. Lately been going to malibu pier. I'm looking to get into surf fishing, mostly around SaMo or Surfrider beach. I also fish at Castaic or Casitas for bass.

Hope to fish with you guys sometime.

Wassup Dog Town! Hey Juan, welcome to the board.

You'll find a bunch of serious anglers here on the site without the hard headed snobby attitute of some of the others out there. Everyone is always looking to fish together and is always willing to help each other in anyway.

Lotta guys like to fish Malibu pier too. There's also alot of surf anglers here including myself. I see that you also hit Castaic and Casitas? I'm in Ventura County so if you ever want to fish Casitas, let me know.

Welcome to the board! I too am a new user and already have gotten a TON of information on surf fishing in SouthBay. These guys are all very cool and very willing to help out the new guys.

You made a good point. I've been a member here for a while as well as a member on a couple of other boards (good boards with good guys too) though I hardly ever post on the others anymore(infact I haven't posted on another board in about 4 months). I became a member of HookUpSportFishing .com a few months after it launched onto the web (as you can tell from my post count), and have never known a better bunch of "anglers/ fellow board members/ fishing partners" asI have here at Hook Up.

There's no snobby crap going on over here. I've been fishing for at least 2 decades of my life (started really really young) and I treat newbies and vets the same! My mentality is ..."If you love to fish, then I like you" Some times people bang heads and have very heavy yet healthy debates here on the board, but it never gets outta hand and it always turns out good.

I can't stand on other boards where guys won't answer or chat with new members or they talk down to them. I would love to have a battle of the sportfishing message boards and go against a few of the other boards in a 2 day offshore competition and then right after that hit up one of the lakes for a Trout derby against them. I bet we could out fish them all!

See how stirred up you got me!

Welcome to the board. As everyone has said you will lots of info and alot of cool people. Ive had the pleasure of fishing with alot of them. One thing I have noticed compared to some of the other boards is this one is way more active. I belive its because the people here actually fish on a regular basis instead of just talk about fishing.
