Hello from Torrance
I just found this site and I'm looking to get into doing some surf fishing for perch since I live relatively close to the beach. I have done plenty of freshwater and also some fishing from my kayak in King Harbor. With a relavitvely new baby (she just turned 8 mos), I figured fishing from the beach would be easier and less time consuming than lugging my kayak around, etc.
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and happy new year!!

L2F,
First of all welcome to the board bro, glad to have you here. There's plenty guys here that do some serious surf fishing and that are very knowledgable about that application. If you have specific questions or topic about location, post a thread in the So.Ca. Saltwater Message Board. If you have a question about Surf fishing gear and tackle, post it in the " Tackle" Forum.
You'll get plenty of responses for sure.
Second thing is congratulations on your new baby!!!!! I'm a young father of three, and our newest edition will be 6 months old this friday( a little girl too)!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, one and all!! I am happy to have joined this group and hope to get a chance to fish with some of you at some point!
And thanks Tony Z for the kind words and info! Congrats to you as well!! Always good to know there are other young fathers out there who share the same love of fishing and family. I am trying to talk my wife into one more for a total of 3!!
Tight lines, everyone!

Two girls. I'd be happy with a third. Coming from a family with all boys, I have 3 older brothers, all of whom have sons, when I found out I was having a girl, I was a little freaked. Now, I wouldn't trade having daughters for the world!! Its awesome!! I never thought anything in life would be better than fishing, but being a Dad, beats it hands down!

Very nice. I have two girls and a boy. My oldest is a girl. When I found out another was on the way I wanted nothing but another little girl; girls are closer to their dads, but when "he" came I was loving it! Having one boy is great! Then when the baby came and it was another little girl, I was totally satisfied and now I want no more!!
Being a Dad is; hands down, the absolute best thing in the world !!!

HA! That is awesome!! I would definatelly love to have one more child. Boy or girl, I don't think it matters. I just love being a dad and can't wait to take the kids fishing when they get old enough!!
