Chris I think they came out pretty good for your first run!!!
The Yellow one is the best, but it does need to trimmed down a bit.
If you don't mind me saying, try tying down the mid section further down the hook shank so the body appears a bit longer (example below) and trim the tail a little bit more. Just my suggestion.. Good Job though. I might want some!
Aren't those very similar to midges except instead of thread for the body is wire?
No. Actually not all midge patterns use thread to wrap the body; I have midges that use wire, and infact the My Caledon Gem Series Bloodworm and Chartreuse Midges use a gem bead head and a vinyl body wrap (pictured below).
The Copper John is a copper bead headed Nymph pattern (also pictured below) ...they're actually a beautiful fly.
theres something about peackock hurl that i love. it looks so fishy. what kind of streamers can i tie with it? also i might try to make a wooley bugger with that stuff.

Forget about trying to copy a pattern.......make one of your own.
Chris best thing to do is surf the web. Google "Fly Fishing Flies", and go throught the various web sites looking at different Streamer and Deceiver patterns and make something that you don't see!!
yeah i make my own stuff sometimes but its mainly for bass. I have 4 bids that are ending withing the next hour so lets see what else i can get
I got some Caledon Bass patterns for you to try. Some real bass paterns like Deer hair mice, Pencil Poppers, Finger Mullets, Dahlberg Divers (very popular bass pattern), and the infamous Water Dog pattern which is probably one of the most successful bass patterns ever. I swear to everything I love; the Caledon bass flies are the most well tied bass flies I've ever seen; they outlast most other manufacturers at least 3 to 1 before they begin to fall apart. Caledon ties Deer hair tighter than any other manufacturer I've seen.
ive had good luck with wooley buggers when im bass fishing. but its always been on my spinning gear. I tied a deer hair mouse once and i was actually pleased with how it came out, too bad i never got to try it out. its pretty fun tying stuff like that because once you put on the deer hair you have to cut it into shape
thanks tony.

I know, I like watching Deer Hair patterns come to fruition. I don't tie myself (yet) but I know a quality fly from a cheapie, like I know the back of my hand. Oh, you're welcome
i thought i'd make something different this time, so here it is. it looks better in person and would be a lot better if i had done it with white marabou.
