Castaic Lagoon 4/17

Fished Castaic again. Nothing by the rocks i was fishing yesterday but went all the way across the lake to another rocky area and caught another 1 pound bass (Pin's Minnow) my friend caught a 10 inch bass on half a Alabama Jumper while bluegill fishing. also got a short bite on my Castaic Baby Bass swimbait.

Is this lake similar to Perris when it comes to bass fishing? I've never been there, but it sounds like a great lake...How is the structure under water?

Thanks for the report. I'm hoping to make it out there next weekend. It's been a few weeks since I've fished it. Any idea where the bass are right now?

friday i caught one at the rocks on the left sside of the pier. saw some nice 3 pund fish (2) too, but they wouldn't hit. also left of the rocks there are the boueys then a dock with some tules. A guy in a float tube caught a 2-3 pound bass and i saw plenty of others which were reluctant to bite, thats probobly cause i suck though. and saturday we were fishing the rocks by that big cement structure on the castaic side of the lagoon. The bass are usuallyy holding were the rock ends and the sand begins.

i dont think its like perris. most of the bass ive seen there come from banks consisting of large rocks (rip rap?). and for the parts accessible by shore there isnt a huge marina or a dam or willows.
