Well just got back from Irvine. Got skunked bad. It started to rain around 10 and didnt let up till after the weight in. Had fun breaking in my tube though..... 1st place prize was $1,000 for a 11.05 trout. 2nd place was $400 something for a 8.4 trout... Not sure if im going out again sunday, but good luck to all those that do..

You can bet these came from Sierra Cove off a boat; the flow has really turned the bite on in this specific area... Too bad its too far for a float tube

Tubers can still roll over there, it may be a bit of work for the angler but it can be done. Just think Excersize. Tighten up those leg muscles!

With the level of the water, it was a LONG LONG drive in a boat from the docks to Sierra Cove, hahah. I can't imagine going in a float tube, YIKES!

Demented Fish, HookUpGirl, and myself actually made it down the west shore pretty far before we had to turn back and that was far enough for me. All the way to sierra cove would be a lot of work. Definitely not a trip to take the girlfriend on!

BanginBob on the wire:

My thoughts would be hitch a ride from a boater, and worry about getting back later

Just mount that Minn Kota 30 on your tube and your set!

LOL. Oh come on banging. You tube almost to the dam last time off the west shore. But the hitch idea is pretty good. Also the trolling motor is good as well.

True, when you're on a quest to win, no pain no gain! The last trip, I floated from the boat docks to the far end of the west shore, to the flats, and back to the boat docks. Lost 5lbs I think, and didn't even win the darn tourney! Oh well, it was a nice day anyways....
