Big Bear 4-13

Started fishing around 7am from shore. Today my neighbor was on fire. He caught a limit by 9am that weighed 13 pounds. I struggled a bit but I caught my limit later on. Out of 12 fish we caught today, 11 of them were on powerbait.

Thanks for the report Anthony. What color powerbait and what length leader was working today?

Good job! Was the wind blowing up there today?

The two best colors are the two most simple and popular, Rainbow and chartreuse powerbait. Yesterday was my most frustrating day up there. My favorite spot has some rocks and a underwater tree stump to the side and in the morning I lost 4 fish right away. They were hitting very very hard. The 2lb leader broke just by how hard they hit, which has never happened before. My neighbor was using 4lb flourocarbon leader and doing great so I eventually switched over and stopped losing fish. The fish wanted a leader between 20-25''. Gerald, the wind blows up there just about eveyday. Early in the morning it's calm and flat but around 9 or 10am it gets windy right away. In the afternoon when it blows hard using a extremely long leader works great. Yesterday was the first time I've seen so many trout jumping on the surface but they wouldn't bite. As soon as they stopped jumping our rods went bendo.
