Central Coast Ocean Reports 11/10/05
PACIFIC OCEAN
Robert Gallia of the charter boat El Dorado said the past few days have
provided plenty of encouragement for last-minute salmon anglers. Limits
were reported on Tuesday, ranging up to 35 pounds, just outside the
Rocky Point area. The big fish have been taking the bigger baits, and
the best results have been at 40 pulls.
With salmon season closing soon, the Berkeley Marina Fleet will continue
to offer crab combos through December. The trips have been scoring
limits of rock fish and about a ling cod per person on most trips. On
the return leg of the trip, the skippers stop and pull crab traps. For
more information, visit berkeleymarinasportfishing.com.
Craig Stone of Emeryville Sportfishing said the dungeness crab and
rockfish combination trips have been yielding excellent results, with
limits of rockfish and crabs caught on every trip so far. Some ling cod
are being taken as a bonus. Out of Emeryville on Saturday, Sunday, and
Monday, seven trips produced 2,010 rockfish (limits), 1,206 dungeness
crabs (limits) and 148 ling cod to 22 pounds for a total of 201 anglers.
Best action on the rockfish has been at the Farallon Islands. Crabs can
be found 5-15 miles offshore.
