THE DELTA
The staff at Gotcha! Bait and Tackle in Antioch said striper fishing has picked up with a lot of anglers catching them at Sherman Lake and Big Break on shad and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie, bluegill and catfish are still being caught in the back sloughs. Catching stripers were John Baker (6 pounds) on mudsuckers at Big Break, Phil Dutra and Maurice Larry (two totaling 23.5 pounds) on Rat-L-Traps at Sherman Lake, Alan Parsons (11 pounds) on a Rat-L-Traps at Sherman Lake and John Burcio (25 pounds) on shad at Walnut Grove. Richard Mauri caught a 18.5 pound salmon on quikfish on the Old Sacramento River.
