Which place would be best to catch a halibut?

I really want to catch a halibut this summer. Which one of these places would probably be my best chance of catching a halibut?

Dana Point Harbor, Newport Pier, Balboa Pier, San Clemente Pier

If your fishing from a boat,Huntington Harbor in about 60' of water in front of the wood tower. If your on a party boat / Redondo sport fishing they mainly fish Santa Monica Bay. BUT if your talking about pier or jetty fishing Try Davies locker dock in Newport beach they charge $5.00 and provide live bait. Use light gear and enough wait to keep you on the bottom. Have lots of fun.

The best places for halibut from shore are; Cherry beach, Belmont shores, 72nd st jetty, Alamitos Bay, the San Gabriel river jetty, Huntington Harbour, Santa Ana River Jetty, and Newport Bay.
From a pier; Belmont pier, the small park piers on shoreline village in LB, Balboa and Newport pier.
Now if your serious about catching some legals get a float tube or kayak(trust me). Fish Cherry beach, grissom, Belmont shore, Alamitos bay, Huntington harbour, Newport Bay and yes Dana point harbor is excellent too.
If you want to catch shorts use artifical lures, if you want some legal halibut use live bait.
