My friend Craig and I hiked back to a small pond in Northern LA County area for some bass fishing. Craig just moved out here from Michigan so this was his first So Cal Bass trip. He was the first in the water and he immediately hooks up, but it shook the hook before he could land it. Not long after that he hooks up again and this time lands his first CA bass! The bite was really sporadic and the fish were about 5-10 feet off the shoreline in about 8-10ft of water. The hot bite was on the flylined 6 inch green senkos hooked through the collar. We each caught a couple and lost a couple. It was a great day and the scenery can't be beat. I have some pics I'll post soon.
I was just looking through some of my old reports and I saw this one. I bet you guys the bass are wide open at this place right now. If any of you are interested in fishing this spot, let me know and I'll PM you directions. This is one of the best ponds I ever found...
