OFFSHORE REPORT

On 5-11-05, Capt. Chris and I met Nick Bellamy, Martha Bellamy, Jennifer Tant, Gail Baker, and Jamie and Michael Clark at South Harbour Marina for a day of offshore bottom fishing. That morning the winds were from the East, and, it is known in this part of the world as "winds from east, fish bite the least". Well you can throw that story out the window, or at least for yesterday, anyway!!! Our first stop was about 35 miles offshore and from that point on it was a very busy day. When the bite slowed on one spot, we would move to another rock to find those fish willing to bite! The only real slow time was when the tide went slack, which is normal so we reeled in and till the changed, we caught King Mackeral until the tide switched. What a day, these guys were great!!!! Our birthday girl, Jennifer, got off to a bad start but as soon as we dropped a line in for kings, reached for another and the first rods reel clicker started screaming, she was fine after that for the rest of the day!!! We caught, King Mackeral, Black Bass(some real nice ones), Pinkys(silver snapper), B-Liners(vermillion snapper), Triggerfish, Joltheads(white porgys), White Grunts, Sharks, and speaking of sharks, Michael hooked a rather healthy juvenile tiger shark(a man eater), and between him and Nick, we were able to boat it for a for a picture secession and then released it unharmed so you can catch it again sometime later. Michael and nick are not real sure if you really want to hook something that fights like that thing did!!!!!!! Bet they have some sore arms today. Be sure to check out pic's at bottom of report!!! The winds have subsided for a little now, and the fish are making up for lost time, come on down, the wait is finally over, I HOPE!!! Thanks again guys and gals for a great trip, we appreciate you!!! Capt. Chris is out today on a bottom fish, king mackeral trip. I had to stay here and get some of this paper work caught up, Should have results of todays trip later tonight or sometime tomorrow after tomorrows trip, just keep check, will have it here ASAP. Till next time, FISH ON!!! Capt. Butch and Capt. Chris Foster. YEAH RIGHT SPORTFISHING CHARTERS, SOUTHPORT,NC (910) 845-2004. www.yeahrightcharters.com
