What a great lake and a beautiful warm day Got there 5:45am and was #4 in line. There are 2 lines: one for those who have reservations, and those go first, and the regular. Didn't make a much of a difference everything moved fast. The lake was stocked last night with trout 3600# which clinched the decision in getting a basic boat. The trout were all over the cove to the left of the marina. They didn't take the trout worm, jigs or lipripperz too well, but was wide open on lures. Used an Owner Cultiva nailed them then got nailed myself. One of the extra sharp replacement hooks imbedded in left middle finger

After trying to get it out with pliers(rather painful and unsuccesful) I remembered the fishing line on the bend of the hook trick. Worked great

Easy limit on the trout. Went for lmb in a cove. Saw plenty, some huge fish, but they weren't that hungry. Ended the day with 4: 2x 2# on dropshot, one 3# on a 7" trout swimbait and a 4# on a nightcrawler. The swimbait got bumped several times, but didn't have it traprigged like my 3" BH swimbait for trolling for trout. Tried the casting for trailers with a nightcrawler, but they were not interested. It's going to be awesome when they start biting. The water was at 58F.
