Santa Ana River Lakes 2-5-04

Fished sarl with buddy Gerald.

Only had two fish to our names till about 2 o clock, both caught on bait. Fishing was very slow. Once 2 pm came around the bite picked up huge. We caught tons of fish, all rats, but still fun. We were using Lip Ripperz cut in half and threaded onto a 1/32 ounce ballhead jig. Used the new colors and they killed. Bite was great from 2 oclock till closing on plastics.

Gerald hooked up into a TOAD on an Orange Lip Ripper but lost it when it ran into someone elses line. Wouldve been fine, but the guy yanked hard (thinking it was his fish) and snapped Geralds line.

Looking forward to Geralds post.

Lets just say he had a "bad day" haha.

Probably be back on the weekend. Had a lot of fun.

That's too bad about Geralds big fish! Oh well, he'll get it next time! Good to hear the fishing picked up in the afternoon. What color lip ripperz was producing the most?

We actually used every one of the new colored Lip RipperZ.
They all worked great, I think its the white in those new worms that draw the fish.

Gerald...haha. I rather Gerald post his days outing. It was very "memorable". ahha.
