After HookUpGirl and I left rancho simi, we decided to hit up this really small pond we know about in Agoura Hills. This place is probably the smallest body of water I've ever fished and it has bass up to 2 or 3 pounds. We were going to head up to the Ventura pier and meet up with Fishingbeast, but I was too tired to drive that far and deal with traffic.
We weren't planning on fishing for bass so all we had was the trout gear. I fished a red berkley power worm and HookUpGirl fished a pink lipripperz (both flylined). I was the first to hook up and I landed a small 8 incher.
HookUpGirl was next with one about the same size. A little while later I landed a HUGE 4 incher LOL!
After that, I switched to a smoke colored lipripperz and hooked into one of the fish I was looking for. I was fishing on 2# line and the fish was peeling some drag and took me around the pond before it shook the hook. I would guess that it was about a 2 pounder or so. Didn't really get a good look at it though.
I really love that spot. It's one of my "Go To" spots when I really NEED to catch a fish. Anyway, it was good to get out and catch a couple.
