Well, I mean a 2 speed is a 2 speed. I do know that AVET was the first out of the two companies to put a two speed in their smaller reels, and they're about to 2-speed the SX.

That one Avet, not sure which one, that is a two speed is nice. It is like 6:1, than goes down to 4.3:1 perfect for Yo-Yo Iron. Rip it on 6: drop gear and bust the yellows (yeah right) in.

What kind of deal are you talking about ($-wise)?

I can hook you up with a YTS that has a black Accuframe/spool, your choice of Penn sideplates (internal/external drag), and Newell 4 to 1 gears.

If you're low on cash, I will accept cash + trade.

That's the AVET MXL 6 two speed.

Like I said. Fast crank to move that jig just the way the yellows like it, and low gear to crank them in

There's actually a few different reasons that 2 speeds were developed, but for the most part...just what James said. I honestly don't think two speeds are necessary on a regular basis, but to each his own.
