Looking for some pre-owned gear
Hey you guys (members and new members),
Here's a charitable cause my company gets involved in:
Ocassionally when I'm able to, myself; through my corporation W.T.W. Inc. which is 2 companies...(W.T.W. Pro Staff & the California Custom Angling Co.),
like to gather donations(preferably) of pre-owned gear that you may not be using anymore and might just be taking up space, ...and put fishing outfits together for young underprivledged beginning anglers who may not be able to afford to purchase gear otherwise.
My company occasionally sponsors and gets involved in alot of junior fishing events, sometime events that involve foster kid programs, orphanages, half way houses, etc. or just plain young fishing hopefuls whos family just can't afford to purchase gear for their child. Somettimes it's people I run across personally or people I know that know someone else who knows parents who can't afford the gear for thier child, etc, etc.
We call it the: Underprivleged Youth Anglers Project (or) UYAP program
I'm always accepting tackle donations for this cause. Below is a list of some items of interest.
If you got it and can generously part with it, let me know...it's for a good cause. I get a rush out of outfitting young "newbie" anglers with a rod and reel combo, or a tackle box full of goodies. It's definitely a blessing to that kid or person who receives it, especially when their family can't afford it. We're "building fisherman" I like to say.
Heres what we look for:
1.) Various size hooks (circle, "j", treble, whatever) preferably un-used, if they are used, then at least not rusted at all, or too much.
2.) Tackle Boxes - various kinds, obviously they'll probably be used, but at least in good shape hopefully, and decently clean, if not we'll clean 'em.
3.) various Sinkers - any size from small "Water Gremlin" slip shot packs to larger 1/2, 1, 2, 3, 4, oz. weights, bell, torpedo, egg, whatever!, etc. As long as they're clean and not too badly dinged up
4.) Freshwater and Saltwater Rods - Spinning, Baitcasting, conventional offshore, bass, trout, ice fishing rods to jig sticks, Fly Rods, whatever! Just let me know.
5.) Fresh or Saltwater Reels - Spinning, Conventional, Baitcasting, etc. Trout size spinning, bass fishing baitcasting reels, Fly reels, whatever, large or small. I will have them serviced if need be and re-spool them with line.
6.) Baits and Lures - spinner baits, buzz baits, plastics, crank baits, top water poppers, plugs, trolling, bucktail spinners, casting Irons, fresh and saltwater flies(must be in good shape); anything....decent shape please.
7.) Misc. Gear - anything that is sport fishing gear, spools of mono, spectra, fluoro, whatever.....let me know
NOTE:
I can arrange to get the gear from you in person, maybe if we plan to fish together, or even pay to have it shipped to my office.
Thanks for at least taking the time to read this!

Thanks D.F.
I just get a kick out of "outfitting" beginners, etc. You've already promised me the 2 tackle boxes and the spinning rod that I'll get on the 26th at LNL. If you do have any more stuff, let me know. Oh i'm gonna edit the Thread. I'm adding Lures and Baits to the list...I forgot

JinXXXXXXXXXXXXX,
Thanks for the response man, I appreciate it! I'm pretty sure I might be interested in the belt and harness, and the Diawa reel. What are the 3 different pound ratings on the reel?

Jinx, one more thing.....why are you getting rid of the Accurate? Did you steal it and need to get rid of it??(Jus' Kidd'n) lol. I'm an AVET guy myself, but I love Accurate's engineering...beautiful reel.
Because I'm looking to buy pre-owned gear for the purpose of putting together rigs, tackle Boxes, etc., to give away to people that can't afford equipment, or who are just starting out fishing, like family members, friends' children and people like that, I really can't afford to spend that much on the Accurate, just to turn around and give it away, I wish I could. I'll tell you what, check your Private Messsages (PM's). Thanks

CST,
Thank you very much, they'll go to good use. I clean them up, stock 'em and bless peoplewith them; mostly beginners who don't have anything at all. If you could bring the Boxes, the reels and the plastics to the Get Together on the 26th that would be cool. Do me a favor and check your PM's. Thanks

I just got way too many tackles, and my wife ask to me to get ride some thing that is standing her way. The accurate is a Factory Demo model, since one of my friend is Accurate's Pro Staff, I got it from him as Xmas Gift.
Sorry i am really not in to trade right now, since I got everthing possible tackle in stock anyways.
I got all tackles range from 130lb clase to 8lb class, almost anything that you can named it.
So cash will be fine. If you are interest for the Accurate, I will let it go for $270 firm.
As for Daiwa and the Smitty's belt & Harness. I dont think there ever have price to beat my offering.
So let me know!

Also, per your question for daiwa GWZ30SHW, it spooled up with 50lb Spectra Line about 250 yards(PowerPro Green), in this case, you can pretty much topshot your fish line from 15lb to 40lb mono or fluoro without any problems!
reason for selling: I just got a Saltiga Saltiga 30t to replace it already!
For accurate, since i already have Trinidad 14, Saltiga 20 and Accurate 197. I really dont need that reel at all!
Smitty, I already bought a brand new Braid Harness and belt, which is smaller and fits much better.

I just give it to whoever. I love putting tackle outfits together for beginning, or intermediate anglers, or even people who I know that are decent fishermen, but just don't have the equiptment. Could be family, friends, people that I see out fishing who may have a child with them but don't have the proper tackle. I just get a kick out of putting together tackle outfits for people and blessing them with it. It's a good thing, and what goes around definitely comes around. I guess I love the sport so much, and can afford to have all the gear, that I want other people to love the sport as much as I do, even when they don't have the means to get the the right tackle / gear. Know what I mean?
