lip ripperz

You dont need a split shot when fishing them on a leadhead, just fish it like a crappie jig very very slowly and you'll do fine. I like to split shot or dropshot them. Thread a # 8 owner mosquito hook halfway through the worm so the worm hangs straight and just cast out let it sink, and work it back with twitches and a pause here and there.

With the rainy weather whats the best way to rig them when you split shot them do you put the sinker about 8 inches above the hook since the woater is dirty in stead of like two feet up the hook? Thanks

Do you mean by that to hook it wacky style?

No, I thread the worm onto the hoook starting at the head of the worm and bring the hook out about midlength. As far as split shot placement I usually have it about a foot up from the hook. I don't fish it differently in murky water.

Thanks I'll try that also. Just checked Bryan's article and he suggest wacky hookup on a splitshot I believe as a way.

Both ways work. Threading the worm like Oliver says is by far the most effective method, at least for me. Wacky Worming is just an alternative. I never fish it wacky, but know a lot of people who do. The action of both are VERY different. They both have their strengths. Good luck on the water!

So wait, are you saying its more effective to put a jighead on the worm, or putting a single hook on, with a splitshot above it?
