Stingers
I bought these at Jigstop yesterday, and I had to get them. They look like they would KILL trout at LNL. However they were REALLY expensive. They were 6 bucks!! Anyway, has anyone had any luck with these?

Just make sure to have a pack of powerworms handing, because your going have to replace the trailer after a couple of fish.

I make my own "stingers" with minijigs and Power Trout Worms, MUCH cheaper than buying them...BTW I think these are around $4 at Turners.

They DO work. About 2 months ago, I saw a Grandfather and his Grandson catch an 11 1/2, a 10 3/4, and a 10 1/2 in less than two hours, fishing the "Grasshopper" color with a white "Stinger", which was my introduction to the lure(s). After I scored some at Turner's, I took them to the lake and I caught fish with them, but nothing as big as the Old Man and the Kid. FishSlayer is right on both counts, they are about $4 at Turner's, and you can make your own for much less.

Fishslayer is allways right...
By the way, I make much smaller stingers too using the micro tube jigs and the skinny end of a PTW, I use them on DFG trout because sometimes they dont take the full size jigs.

The thing about these stingers though, is that the trout worm is stuck inside the mini jig, making it almost impossible to come out unless a trout rips it.

I just watched Dennis Yamamoto (on TV) fishing a PTW tucked-up inside a 1" Berkley power-tube with a size 4 mosquito hook on a drop-shot rig, effectively making his own Stinger (sans the lead-head), and using it on the trout at Irvine Lake. He was able to cover a lot more water with the drop-shot rig than with the jighead.
I'm just sayin'.....

I dont understand why that would cover more water, dont you need to keep the weight in contact with the bottom when dropshotting?
When fishing it on a jig head it seems like you can work more of the water to me...also I bet the mosquito hook tears out of the jig head pretty easy.
