Laguna Niguel Lake News. IMPORTANT

Alright... heres some info....

Due to the rain this week, LNL DID NOT STOCK on tuesday. It will be reschedualed to NEXT TUESDAY, MARCH 2ND.

There are only 4 more stockings for trout season 2003-2004. (Im a little pissed cause i only got to fish the lake about 5 times this year!!) If you havn't gone to LNL this year, NOW IS THE TIME. You really need to check this out!!!

Here is the remaining stocking scheduals:

(8) Tuesday March 02nd 2004

(9) Tuesday March 16th 2004-BIG FISH

(10) Tuesday March 30th 2004

(11) Tuesday April 13th 2004

I would not suggest fishing this lake if it rained at least 6 days or less before. (unless you want to fish for catfish )

If you need ANY help on trout fishing, please send me a PM or reply here.

For more info, visit www.lagunaniguellake.com

The trout at laguna does not bite in the rain? I got a few one time there around the rain. But I have heard of the flooding that takes place there and the mud everywhere. Its a ugly sight. It was like a light rain when I went one time and did the same as usual.

Its not the rain, its the MUD. Trout HATE the mud. Now that i think of it however, I have never caught a trout in the rain before.

Yeah I heard the mud is real bad there. But at Sarl and The Vine. My best fishing was during the rain. Some buddies of mine and I, 3 of us, got 12 lloyds a while back during the rain at chris pond. All over 10 pounds. As long as it is not heavy showers than it still is good to catch the trout at sarl and Irvine. Lagunas mud may be a factor there with the water being very murky and messy. But at the others, remember, the fish are already wet, so it does not matter to them. LOL. I'll may be at Irvine on Sunday if not at least sarl on Monday so I'll give the results.

BanginBob on the wire:

When the rain comes down hard at LNL, head for the wash out, the fish go upstream and into the pools in the wash out, you can see them swimming, and site fish it! The pools are full of hookjaws, and a blast to catch! Reminds me of the high sierras stream fishing...

All the way to the back end of the lake where you see the small canals and stream. The fishing is off the chain there. But sometimes they do not let you fish back there, it all depends. Bangin is correct though, the fishing there is excellent especially when you use roe and jigs. You see them just bunching up back there. If you go to the very back the stream turns into the wash out and you can pick them off there. Just walk and follow the canal until it ends behind the flats area.

Lipripperz should work fine there. I have caught them in the past in that area on yellow and white mini's tiped with meal worms.

But the roe is king there in that area. Fish it under a bobber a few feet and its normally good.

I cant beleave I JUST saw this post, next year after a heavy rain try fishing the creek and ponds down in the park itself. When it rains heavy the lake overflows and trout get washed downstream as well, you dont have to pay to fish down there but the fish are REALLY spooky.
