My new toy!

I got some gift cards for X-mas so of course I spent them allready and I just got one of my new toys in the mail today and I cant freakin wait to try it out, it has the most amazing action. I got the 8'6 and from shore I should be able to cast a 1/80 or 1/100 micro jig forever and a half.

Hey the rod looks sweet and the price you can't beat. How does the reel seat on that rod?

The reel seat surprised me, I didnt think it would be as stable as it is but it works good. The only flaw I have found so far with this rod is that it does not have one of those built in hook holders just above the handle.

if the reel seat is the cheap kind that has two metal rings you slide up and down to hold the reel, you can just hook your jig/lure onto that

I bought two of them, the 7'6 and the 8'6, the price was just to good and I fish with really light weight jigs so longer is better. I might go to La Mirada Park Lake Thursday morning and throw some jigs and trout worms for a couple of hours and try them out.

Great sticks!
I am going to get another 7'6 myself, I love the 8'6 from shore but after trying to land two 3lb Alper's with it on my pontoon I decided its just too long to be practical from a float tube. If those fish had been bigger I dont think I would have been able to get them into the net with the 8'6.

Good, I'm glad I made the right decision of getting the 7'6" cause I was having trouble deciding. I bought this one for the exact reason you brought up.

Huh?
I have been fishing these rods for months now, they are great for trout and panfish, I caught two of my three Alpers on them this last Bishop trip.
