kauai
just got back from a VERY rainy trip to kauai. It rained pretty much the whole time except tuesday, the day we had planed to go fishing.
Well got to the harbor around 630, and we were told that we were gunna leave a little early so we could beat a cruise ship that was coming into the harbor. As soon as we got out of the harbor, we droped back 4 feathers and trolled our way down a ridge for about 6 miles and then we headed out to a buoy. got there to find a private boat there with 2 nice tuna hanging, so it was lookin good. We had to catch some bait for the chunk, which was how they were catching the fish. We ended up catching a whole bunch af yellowfin and skipjack in the 3-5 lb variety for bait. From there we went and fished the chunk, but the bite had died down. Then we decided to go and troll for the rest of the trip. with about 30 minutes for fishing time left, the starboard corner rod goes off, and after 6 or 7 jumps and about a 20 minute fight i boat an estimates 35 lb bull dodo.
Ill post the pics later.
