Get some squid and head north on the 101 to coyote point and find a nice spot there to catch some mud marlin and leapord sharks.
Good luck

I think he means San Jose up in the Bay area(sorta). If so, the Delta isn't all that far away and has some great fishing in it.

Google search any local tackle shops, go in and see what they say. Hopefully they take kind to the new guy and show you around. Good luck with it all

Hey, not to worry! Many moons ago I moved up to the LA area from San Diego--before the Internet--and it was tough to find info! But thanks to the Worldwide Web, reliable info is now just a mouse click away So here is the info. Freshwater, one of your options is Parkway Lake. They have trout, catfish & sturgeon. Google their website for permit fees and boat rental prices. Another option is Lakes McClure & McSwain in the Sierra Nevada Foothill region. They feature rainbow trout, king salmon, Florida-strain LMB, spotted bass, bluegill & crappie. Again, Google their websites for specific info. And if saltwater fishing is your "thing" then all you have to do is Google www.sportfishing.com for all the landings in the San Francisco Bay that fish for striped bass, halibut, sturgeon, salmon, and assorted rockfish species. As for local fishing info, just Google the following tackle shops--Coyote Discount Tackle, Delta Bait & Tackle, & Fishery Supply--all in San Jose. Hope this info proves useful
