Float On
July 19th (Saturday) or 20th (Sunday) depending on input would be a possible float gathering. Tubes or yaks at the Long Beach Bayside Area. We can launch out of the LeeWay Sailing Center.
There's free parking across the street and along the center. A wash station is also there.
For those who make bait there's plenty of mussels and clams along the seawalls and docks. In addition on the 19th there's a negative 0.6 tide and on the 20th a negative low tide of 0.5, decent enough to get ghost shrimp, but you've got to get up early(around sunrise).
The ghost grounds are about a 20 minute paddle from the sailing center, or you could even launch from the ghost ground, but no wash station there.
If we launch from the sailing center we can target the boat docks, then go after the buoys, then the next boat docks. After that there's a grass line area to work parallel to. I never went passed that point so anyone with a fish finder rides lead.
CST if you show, shave. Last time out there was a boat of 6 HOTTIES waving hi. If no fish you can always watch the beach bunnies tan. College is out and they're sun bathing. Too late for me, but good luck for you.

A friend of mine just caught a 28 incher at a LB jetty with smelt. A few more dinks too. One more trip out in the harbor and I'll target that jetty next. Nick Velvet knows that area well.

What strike?
I say for REZ it's Sunday. I'll pump ghost shrimp bait Saturday at 5:30 AM (bait is for people who can wake up) and get what I can.
Launch can be around 9

I might be able to make this. You will have to get some cat food and sabiki's ready for the smelt.
