looking ahead a bit...

Anybody planning a trip to the Sierras or anywhere else the weekend of the 13th?
I have that Thursday, Friday and Saturday off and I thought that another (but hopefully warmer) camping trip would be nice.
I am also up for an overnight Kern river trip or even an overnight trip to the upper Santa Ana river and Jenk's lake for that Friday and/or Saturday.

I should be up for another trip somewhere around then. Kern or Santa Ana sounds good to me, not sure if I can do another Sierras trip so soon.

STUPID GAS PRICES!
The only thing that might keep me from making another Sierra trip that weekend would be lack of gas money. It would be MUCH cheaper to hit the local mountins instead, (if only they stocked Alper's in Jenk's or the Santa Ana)...SIGH!
I need to see what kind of funds I will have for that weekend and decide...

I think that if I can get a trip together to the "local" waters I may do that since I was planning my next Mammoth trip for July and I dont want to spend to much on gas this month if I can help it.
But if nobody is available to hit USAR or Jenk's next weekend I may have to head North and meet up with Chris in Mammoth.

Not sure now if I will be free that weeked, last night we purchased a 13' sheet metal brake for $1800 all the way out in Nuevo, Perris... talk about being in BFE! Now we gotta rent a stake bed to haul the thing to our shop in LA.

Plus side is this thing is so massive I could form/build my own boat or skiff if I wanted to =).

I'll keep checking this thread and see where you guys end up.
