5-30 Beating the Heat (and the fish)
The weather has been hot and humid the last few days so the girls and I went down to the creek today so they could go swimming. At the last minute, I decided to take a rod with me so I could play in the water, too.
The water has warmed up quite a bit since last week and we could see fish everywhere. I tied a chartreuse/silver flake tube on a 1/16 oz jighead and proceeded to slay some sunfish. They weren't the biggest greens we have seen down there, but they were some of the fattest! I fished for about an hour and finished up with 20-30 greens, 1 pumpkinseed, 2 baby bass and 1 longear. All the greens looked like they had been eating canonball sinkers. Here's a few pics to show the guts on these little bad boys. All fish were released.       Now that the fish are moving up, it's time to take the girls out after some real bass!  |
