Another MOBass kit

It still needs to be massaged a little. But this is what I have been toying with... This is my first shot at the craft. So feel free to add comments.
Should I make the back a little straighter or leave it like it is???

Thanks for putting together these kits MOBass. I'm having a blast with the dremel!!!

Glad you're having fun with it! That's what it's all about! It's looking real good MoonlightN!! I'd leave the back like it is, but that's just me!

If you would leave it like it is. I guess there's no reason to change it.... Thanks for the input!!!

What kind of a joint are you going to use on it?

I'm not sure! I was thinking of countersinking the eyes that came in the kit. What's the best joint to use? With the size of fish this thing is going to attract. Those lil'O eyes may not hold up!

The screw eyes for the tail don't need to be overly large because there's no hook in the tail section, so there's not so much pressure being put on them. The line tie and hook eye screws are bigger so that they do hold up.
With a thin biat like that, I'd just stick with the tapering the edges into each other and countersinking the eye screws a little.

Sounds like a plan! If I'm going to win this striper comp. I better get it done before it's too late!!

You're not too far from getting that one done, but you have a couple more to do too, lol!

The 2 that I started on are mostly for practice. The 3 piece is the one that I'm anxious to get started. I have a lot to learn before starting on that one.

Nice! it's looking great, i'd leave the back the way it is.

these kits are great. ive tried my two kits then tried making a few baits on my own and it is nowhere near as easy. you really get to appreciate the hardwork put into handmade baits.

Good work. You might as well frame it since you went back to soaking bait!!

I was thinking of letting you try it out first. That way if you can't catch one on it. Then there is no since in me throwing it... As for the bait thing. I need a few more lessons in fishing the duct with artificials. Until then I will take them however I can get them. We can talk more about that when I post pics. of a DD caught on bait.
