Finally!!! they have arrived!!!

We had an awesome day today...it started out slow, we could not find the fish al morning, but at about noon we saw a jumper, then another one, and one more...as son as we got close to them we had one knock down the outrigger and then switch to the shotgun and grabbed our only lure in the spread. We had 4 baits hooked to three 50's and one 30, on the shotgun we had a small accurate 270, even smaller than a 12....and of course that's where the marlin hit! FISH ON!!! Ajuuuuaaa!!!! Finally our first marlin of the season, we released it after a nice fight on light tackle. Actually I think the marlin released us after we chased him like crazy with the boat!

We put the lines back on the water and not even 5 minutes later another marlin came into our flat, took the bait and again; hook up!....after another fun battle and some great video we had him on the leader. Another clean release...a few minutes after that we boated a nice dinner size dorado and headed back home. Finally our top water season is here after a looooong winter. As much as I love jigging, there is nothing like watching a marlin skipping the water after your lure!

The best of luck to all this weekend.

Fernando

The lucky lure that gave us the 1ts marlin of the 2008 season:

You're right Fernando
Nothing compares to see a Marlin chasing the lures
and looking for the smallest reel, so he can hit that one
and put on a beautiful show... and a fight like no other
on top of that, bring home some dorado for dinner
I can't wait to go back to San Carlos
were putting a group together
to visit that fishing paradise

I think that a fly from TJ in Aero California
to Hermosillo is the best way and is very cheap ,,

I see the Ironman Collins in this video, cool guy
and the trolling speed, the lure the fight, and release, cool

Dorado bite has been good...marlin and sailfish jave been playing hard to catch. We've seen lots of them, but they haven't been interested...we tried lures, ballyhoo, live bait and no takers...we did release a sail last saturday.
