Tackle and Camping sales Saturday May 3rd
I know some of these have been covered but thought I post them all togeather to remind anyone that was interested or didn't know about them this weekend.
Aftco
http://www.aftco.com/
Parking lot sale on Saturday mostly salt water gear, but some other vendors with all sorts of tackle.
Grant Boys
http://www.grantboys.com/
Fishing and camping gear parking lot sale on Saturday and Sunday
Turners Outdoors
http://www.turners.com/index.html
Big parking lot sale good prices on rods, reels, line, lures and some hunting gear. Opens at 8 I'd try and get there by atleast 7 or earlier to get in line.
Southwind Kayaks
http://www.southwindkayaks.com/
Kayak extravaganza sale, nice store with alot of yak gear and friendly staff.
I will be at the Turners and Aftco sales for sure, and if i have time maybe the other two as well.

you can never have enough stuff, everytime were fishing we still say darn I should have brought or wish I had blah blah blah.
Turner sales was sweet I got there at 6:30 am and waited in line till 8... that early and I was still 10th in line. First to be cleared out were the Okuma bait casters and some noel reels, I was able to score the only small okuma baitcaster they had for the harbor. Got a couple $30 abu garcia rods for $10 and some crank baits and plastics, shimano deck boots, browning mesh shooting vest / fishing vest. And some various lbs spools of fishing line.
And had to deal with a couple of idiots trying to take stuff out of my basket they wanted, wtf is there some kinda of exception that if you don't speak english I'm supposed to let you get away with rude or stupid things!? nooo I will give you a big dose of act right!
Aftco got there about 11:30 and most everyone had packed up and left so just bought a couple guy harvy shirts for $5 each.
Southwind Kayaks sale was pretty cool everything was 15% off and they had demo's and seminars going on, and a few manufacturers booths like yakima.
Grant Boys was kinda what evers if you needed a tent or a ice chest it was a good day to go. Only other good deals were the coleman lanterns and heaters.

Brian, Turner's biggest sales are the standard prices you'll find at basspro.

Actually no, not on everything since I have been to both. And there were actually 2 guys there shopping from Bass Pro on their lunch break since prices were lower than what they get at Bass Pro with an employee discount.
And how many Turners wherehouse sales have you attended? I know you hate them because they can't spool your reel for crap lol, but don't hate on Turners the company just hate on the incompetent kid they put behind the fishing counter.

well more like 2 kids and a women with a muffin top that would make the Pillsburry dough buy run spooled my lines and ####ed them all up. F@ck turners if not for there sales than there incompetent customer service. No I've never been to the sales, hope they make up for the racket prices they hold regularly. $4 for 4 1/2 sinkers is not a deal and $70 for a Jigmaster is nothing close either.

I ended up swinging by Big Fish tackle yesterday morning and scoring a couple of rods for $5 each.
One is a six foot UL spinner and the other one is an eight foot ultralight baitcaster

lol I feel for you just having to experience the muffin top, damn the person to hell that came up with that expression.
I don't normally shop at Turners either unless something is on sale and I know it is a deal or I can't get it anywhere else locally. I got a few good deals from online coupons they send you through email if you sign up, you just print it out and take it to store to purchase.
I just can't stand how most of the employees they hire all have this holier than thou attitude especially at the gun counter. Like it's not ok to ask questions or I am supposed to know everything when I go in there. The only decent sales people I have found at a Turners is the guy who runs the fishing counter in Fountain Valley with the dark hair and a goatee, or the other guy with a pony tail.

Yup! I love them cuz they always have deals on cheap rods & rod/reel combos. Perfect for loaners & jetty fishing, etc. Another reason I love these guys is because they've almost always got Ghost Shrimp in stock. They're my Go-To shop when I'm in the area.
