Thumbs up Zebra Midge

It's an easy one but very effective!

Zebra Midge Recipe:
Hook: Scud style, sizes range. I used #16
Thread: Black Uni
Head: Small silver bead
Body: Thread style slightly tapered towards the head
Ribbing: Fine silver wire

Do you have the hook point out of the vice when you tie your flies? I usually have the point in so I dont get poked or get hung up on it when tieing.

I use head cement, works better than nail polish.

I use nail polish as a head cement/gloss on many flies. I havent used it over a body yet though. I will definatley try it out though.

Cuban-
I try and get the hook as far out of the vise that I can get it with it staying tight. Easier to tie when there is more room. So yes, most of the time the point is out.

The head cement will let the fly last longer, and it will sink better.

it should be out of the vice, if you have the hookpoint in, the shank will be weak near the eye.
